Soprano Heather Aranyi, a native of Potomac, Maryland, is equally at home singing the operatic, concert and liturgical repertoire. She recently earned her Master's Degree in Voice and Opera from Northwestern University, and has been coached in the vocal repertoire by music staff from the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Vienna State Opera. Her private voice studies have been with Fred Carama, William Woodruff, Gianna Rolandi, Patricia McCaffrey and Ronald Combs.
Ms. Aranyi is renowned for her extraordinary voice as well as her exemplary musicianship and outstanding stage presence. She is the recipient of numerous awards and honors including the Cecilian's Scholarship, the Three Arts Club Fellowship, the McCormick Fellowship, the Instituto Culturo Scholarship and the North Shore Women's Club Scholarship. She was the only singer honored as one of the 2006 Judith Dawn Memorial Fund Artists of the Year.
Ms. Aranyi has numerous recent Chicago credits, including the soloist for the Northwest Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Stabat Mater at Old St. Patrick's Church and Judas Maccabaeus at K.A.M. Isaiah Israel Synagogue.
Ms. Aranyi is an award winning and dynamic conductor. She is the founder and conductor for both the Chicago Jewish Children's Choir and Shireinu, Anshe Emet Synagague's lay choir. Both groups are actively performing throughout the Chicagoland area.
Her European experience has taken her to Chiari, Italy, where she participated in the prestigious International Institute of Vocal Arts. In addition to appearing in Ravel's L'Enfant Et Les Sortileges, she sang in many concerts.
